UberNote Update : Note Sharing and Mobile Access

We have had a great summer here at [url=http://www.ubernote.com/]UberNote[/url]. Since our last newsletter, we've [url=http://blog.ubernote.com/2008/08/ubernote-update-082708.html]updated UberNote[/url] to add collaborative note sharing and many usability improvements. We also have released a beta of our mobile version. We've tested it on the iPhone as well as other mobile browsers. Check it out at [url=http://m.ubernote.com/]http://m.ubernote.com[/url]. If your mobile device is incompatible or you are having trouble with it, please let us know.

If you haven't installed the [url=http://www.ubernote.com/webnote/pages/tools.aspx]Firefox toolbar[/url] yet, definitely check it out!. Response to the toolbar has been very positive so far and many of you are already using it to quickly bookmark, clip and add notes.

UberNote Newsletter: Firefox Toolbar Released!

It has been a while since the last [url=http://http://www.ubernote.com/webnote/pages/default.aspx]UberNote[/url] email update, but during that time we have added a lot of features we hope you enjoy. Here are the details:

1. Firefox Toolbar
Our new [url=http://www.ubernote.com/webnote/pages/tools.aspx]Firefox toolbar[/url] gives you quick access to the most commonly used features of UberNote, and runs separately from the main web application. You can use it to directly clip web pages, bookmark web pages to your notes, add new notes, view notes, enter the web application, and search your notes.

2. Add Notes Using AOL Instant Messenger
Send an instant message to our AIM bot, named uberadd, and the message gets directly added into your notes. For more information, [url=http://www.ubernote.com/webnote/pages/help.aspx#H1_13]click here[/url].

3. Note History
We have added the ability to view a history of changes to your notes--just click on History in the title bar of any note. From the history page, you can select an older version of your note to revert to.

4. Add Notes By Speaking into Your Mobile Phone
By using Jott, you are now able to add notes using their voice-to-text services. After setup, you simply dial their number, say 'UberNote', and speak your note. It then gets converted into text and added to your notes. 5. New Demo Video
Our [url=http://blog.ubernote.com/2008/07/new-ubernote-demo-video.html]new demonstration video[/url] features sound and the updated look of our notes.

6. Web Application Improvements
We have improved the look of notes so that each note is easily distinguishable from the next note. We have also made navigation easier by showing the current category at the top of the page.
The full page scroll bar now works with the mouse-wheel, a long awaited fix to a defect.

After talking to our users to find out how they use UberNote, we decided to add a [url=http://www.ubernote.com/webnote/pages/tour.aspx]tour area[/url] highlighting specific features and how they are used. Check them out for new ways you can use UberNote.

The latest updates to UberNote also expand your ability to add notes from more places.

1. UberMail
You can now email notes directly into your UberNote account. Your personal UberMail address is of the form [username].[uniqueid]@ubernote.com. More information is available [url=http://www.ubernote.com/webnote/pages/email.aspx]here[/url].

2. Web Browser Tools / Bookmarklets

It has been a great couple of months for UberNote. The number of new accounts and return users each week has exceeded our expectations. We want to extend our thanks to you for spreading the word, reporting defects and making feature requests.

Because of the user requests via email and our forum, we have changed the features that went into the recent update. This update has added compatibility for the Safari browser and improved the note editor, two of the most requested features. So if you want something added, make a request in the forum. We really do listen!!! (It's really easy, you login with your normal UberNote account.)

Below is a list of recent updates to UberNote:

1. Browser Compatibilities
UberNote is now compatible with Safari 3 and Firefox 3.

2. Improved Note Editor
Many improvements to the note editor have been implemented:
Autodetection of typed links
Image insertion capability
Ability to change font size, text color, and text background color

3. Expand and Collapse Individual Notes
Any or all visible notes can be expanded or collapsed. When a note is collapsed you can preview the note on mouse over.

4. Improved International Features
There is now the ability to save accented characters in addition to searching for them with or without accents.

5. Login Changes
The "Remember me" login option now allows you to keep a session open in UberNote unless you log out. You can also login by the email address you've registered with UberNote.
Be on the lookout for some uber cool features that allow you to add notes from outside UberNote. Thank you for your time and UberNote usage.

[b]1. Note Integrated Task Items[/b]
You can now add Task Items with clickable checkboxes inside your notes.

[b]2. Open Task Item List[/b]
In one click return any note with an open task items. Great for finding those items you may have "forgotten" to do!

[b]3. Undo and Redo in Internet Explorer (user requested feature)[/b]
Although not handled by the browser itself, the UberNote team found a way to give you both undo and redo in the editor. (It already worked in FireFox)

[b]4. Create New Tag From Note (user requested feature)[/b]
You can now create a new tag right from tag menu of a note. Which will both create the new tag and tag your note.

[b]5. Smoother Note Resizes[/b]
Note resizes have a larger buffer to reduce the "jitter" effect as you write more in your note.

[b]Hot UberTip![/b]
With the recently added integrated task item feature in UberNote, you can manage you task list items in a whole new way.

1. Write notes on anything you want
2. Put your task items right in your notes just you would in a written notebook. (Instead of one note with task items)
3. Use the "Open Tasks" list to find any note that has undone tasks!

You never have to worry about aggregating tasks or flipping through your notes trying to figure out what isn't done.
