web page ending "/name.txt" malformed?

seemed to have difficulty grabbing plain text from this page ...

source shows it to be just text only

message shows ... "untitled page added"

note appears as ... text all garbled (running together with no farmatting like c/r etc)

bug in accent search

yes, the accent insensitive search works: i.e. when you enter in the search field a non accentuated word, all the notes with this word (with or without accents) are found! great :)
But now, when you enter in the search field an accentuated word, no note is found, even the note with the accentuated word!
Could you please fix this ?

Unencrypted loggin in

Hi, I have a message. When i tried to login my browser showed me a security showed me a security warning stating that i information i have entered is sent over an unencrypted connection and can easily be read by third party. Hope this could be resolved soon. Thank you.

creating new note - header is cut off

hi guys,

this just happened twice; second time i got a screen shot. will send image via email and reference this defect number. basically i created a new note, and the blue top of the note isn't there, the note body is adjacent to the Select Page [1] 2 , instead of having the title area, font adjustments, etc.

Scroll bar not showing up

I'm using firefox 2 on xp pro and the scroll bar for the page doesn't show up.
It works fine on firefox 2 on my mac.

Trash Icon does not work in Firefox 2.0.0.12

I can't delete notes with the trash icon in upper right of note with Firefox. I have IETab installed though so I switched over and it seems to work fine in IE.

FIXED: accent insensitive search

Hi,
I'm writing words in French with accents, and when I want to search an accentuated word, nothing's coming out!
Could you please fix this ?
And also could you please implement the search fonction in an accent insensitive way ? So that when I want to search "première", not also "première" is found, but also "premiere" without accent.
This should be done easily with a function such as:

FIXED: Login cookie not working?

I'm on Windows XP, SP2, using Firefox, and even if I check "Remember me" during login, the next time I start up my browser, I've got to login again. Is the "Remember me" only on a per-session basis, or is it supposed to be a persistent cookie? If the latter, it's not working for me, and if the former, could we HAVE a permanent cookie instead? I check back at ubernote a few times a day, but sometimes I'll have shut my browser down in the meantime, and having to login a few times a day is kind of a pain.

FIXED: Multiple Tags

Found a small issue with entering multiple tags...

Having just started using Ubernote, I have very few tags set up. Thus, with each new post I create half a dozen tags that describe it. To do so, I drop down the Tags menu, click in the New Tag textbox, and start typing away... "Projects, , Electronics, , Wishlist, ", etc.

When I hit after a tag, it populates the list with the new tag (good), checks the box for that tag (better), and resets the textbox with the cursor at the end (not so good). So if I'm not paying attention, I get three new tags: Projects, New TagElectronics, and New TagWishlist.

It would be nice if hitting Enter in the New Tag textbox would add the tag, populate the list, check the box, and give me an empty textbox to work with rather than making me delete the default NewTag that gets populated there.

FIXED: UberNote keeps logging me out

This has happened to me a few times in a row---an error message flashes for a split-second, then I get a page that says "Sorry, session no longer valid."

I'm using Mac OS X Tiger and Firefox 2.0.0.8.

text underlining won't shut off

I have some underlined text at the beginning of a note. I tried to type more notes preceeding this underlined text, which also showed up underlined. I cannot highlight and turn off underlining. Anything typed preceeding the underlined will be underlined no matter what buttons I click.

I also tried to copy/paste in some non-underlined text, but when pasting it comes in as underlined.

Frustrating.

mouse wheel won't scroll in opening page

Just signed in for the first time and Ubernote will not scroll in the opening page. I'm using a Mac with OS X 10.4.11 and the Apple MightyMouse.

all the letters I've written with accents have disappeared!
When I typed "première" in a note, all's ok until I close the browser. But when I reopen it and come back to ubernote, all I found is ""premire": the accentuated "è" disappeared!

defects found in beta version

hey guys,

dan sent me the link to the beta version and i found a couple items:

x'ed out w/o logging out (clicked on red X for internet explorer browser session to close), and when I clicking beta link again from my yahoo mail, it signed me in even though i hadn't checked the "remember me" thing. knew who i was even though i didn't specify it. dan thinks might be b/c i had other IE session open - different instance, not same tab, that it carried the cookie across sessions. makes sense if so, but i think from a user's perspective, if i don't want the app to remember me, i don't ever want it to log me in automatically.
italic - doesn't carry over to next line consistently, worked about every other time. what i mean by that is if i typed a word, selected and did control i to make it italicized, if i hit enter to get to next line, worked maybe 2 of 4 tries
on links, when i clicked the link icon and entered www.google.com it created http://www.www.google.com.com. i'd never used the link icon before so it may have been there before or be the desired behavior but it seemed unusual to me
tried cut, paste - only got prompt asking me to allow access first time, not subsequent times. also, the first timje when it did work, it didn't have the a underlined in "allow access" to allow quick choice like it usually does. dan thought it might be something with internet explorer settings but i don't think so - i thought it asked each time before. may want to try it out -was on windows, ie7
when i did the email to self feature, the last e cut off - email was titled "Incoming Note: 90K servicing - car from UberNot" instead of ... from "Ubernote". sent a different one later, trying to recreate, of an untitled note, and text appeared right, included last e

FIXED: Notes stuck on 'Loading...'

I just registered with UberNote this morning.

The two starter notes (tagged 'UberNote Help') do not display. The note titles are set to 'Loading...', but the notes do not actually load.

When I tried to create a new note, the note title was also set to 'Loading...'. I tried to type content into the body of the new note, but although I saw the flashing cursor, the text I typed was not displayed.

I'm using Firefox 2.0.0.11.

Scroll Bar Disappearance

I've been using the site with Firefox, and sometimes the scroll bar on the right hand side of the page disappears (or never appears) and I can't get to notes that are low enough on the page not to show up in the initial view. Sometimes I can't even find a place on the screen to click such that I can use the arrow keys instead of the scroll bar.

(Still loving the actual functionality, though!)

CLOSED: Content of note disappears

Working from home, I created a note (an address list), gave it a tag, and added about 15 entries. I logged out and when I logged back in a few minutes later, all the content I had added was there. But when I began to type in a new entry to the note, everything I had typed before diseappeared from the note. It is not in the trash and the help screen did not provide any guidance. Is there any way to recover lost content?

CLOSED: Font Changes

I can't figure out a real pattern but sometimes the application changes the font size. It seems to happen when I delete a blank line. The size of the font on the line directly below will change, and possibly the type of font (I can't tell if it looks a little different because of the size change or if it's a new font. I see two examples and one looks like just a size change, the other looks like it may be a type change.)

It might have something to do with the fact that I copied and pasted lines of text from OneNote. Maybe there are some funky hidden Microsoft tags in the html or something... :D

FIXED: Can't scroll tag list

My list of tags has exceeded the vertical length of my screen. The scroll bar on the right only affects the display of the notes themselves, not the left-hand menu. So I can't scroll that portion of the screen to see my newest tags. I'm using Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.11.

However, I've been using this site for two days now, and I love it. It's exactly the application I'd been waiting for - web-based, tag-enabled, free-form note application that I can access anywhere. Thanks!

Working from a high school location. Have tried to create tag for web sites. Thought I had done so a couple of days ago, but file empty today. Copied and pasted links to file, but could not save. File empty when logged back in, two times. Modified time looked like it had saved.

Also, get message: stack overflow at line:126 when I log in at school.

hey guys,

i found a couple weird things - i was creating a new tag for a note i'd just created.

(1) first, it let me create several tags with identical names. this happened because i wasn't patient about it, i had typed it in but it didn't promote itself to a new tag, stayed in the editable field, if you know what i mean

(2) second, somehow i got a couple identical notes. don't know if had to do with my tagging or what, but i suspect it was just a display thing - because when i deleted it, both went away.

(3) finally, the "real" bug that probably wasn't user-error related, because i could see that maybe 1 and 2 were, when iuntrashed the duplicate note described in 2, it came back, including title, but was empty, data gone (and still there were two of them)

I tried to recreate 3 but couldn't. so maybe it's all one related issue, and goes back to how there became two duplicate notes. Hope this helps,

FIXED: Client performance concerns

This is a bit non-specific, but I'm notcing a fair bit of lag/delay when clicking on things in the browser. Watching CPU use, I see that IE spikes to 100% for the duration of the lag. Could be you've not taken the time to optimize anything yet, but I thought I'd mention it. I'm using a duale-p4 3.0GHz with 2GB of RAM, so it's unlikely that my system itself is the issue.
