I trade Commodities. I keep each days notes on one not. It would be nice to have a timestamp option to insert within a note when I take pricing orders.

Hirarchichal Notes - Wishlist

I have been using Jot Notes (Kingstairs) for years. A very powerful hierarchical database which is simple and fast. I now need an online notes database and having browsed every one I could find and trialling the most likely Ubernote is the one for me.

The one thing missing for me is being able to arrange the Tags in hierarchies.

Thus a master Tag might be fruit and subtags might be apples, oranges, bananas etc. The next Master Tag might be vegitables and so on.

All in all this is a superb application - thanks

Feature request: Batch printing of notes

Great product. Makes my life so much easier.

I would like to be able to select multiple notes and print them all at once.
Currently I have to open each individually and then print.

This feature would provide the added benefit of being able to archive to multipage PDF/PS/etc. using 'print to file'.

Iphone app request

Seems you guys are getting a lot of extra work now that we are all migrating from GNotes.
I signed to Evernote the same day I singed here and by far liked more your service. Evernote seems so... confusing for the regular GNote user, you know, simplicity is our thing.

The thing that makes me wonder to stay or go to Evernote is their great Iphone app: it's simple, straightforward, useful and nice looking... unlike their web interface but... well.

Could you, please, make an Iphone app? :)

Check boxes that are "checkable" in Mobile version

I use a Blackberry Curve and while I have no problem seeing my notes when using it, any checkboxes within a note are not visible and there is no way to "check them off" so to speak. This is key to making the mobile version useful, since I need to be able to check off tasks as I complete them while out and about. A similar request was made by another user in the general forum.

Calendar with email notification?

Hi everyone,

Fantastic application! I've been using Ubernote for a few days and I already have a pile of notes well organized with various tags. Love it!

My suggestion, and I realize it's a big one, would be to integrate a basic calendar to which you could associate note(s). Also, an email notification system where certain events are due on certain dates would send a simple email note.

Just a couple of suggestions.

Also, I just ran the spellcheck and it catches "ubernote" as a mistake :) Kinda funny!

Multiple Tag Selection

Apologies if this has been suggested before...as a new user, I did a little search for this but didn't come up with anything.

I'd like to be able to select a subset of notes to display by being able to use a key combination (such as Ctrl + Mouse Click) to select two or more tags. The program would then display only the notes which contained those two selected tags.

I tried doing this using a keyword "and" search, but it appears that searches the text of the notes, not the tags.

Note exporting feature

An "export note" feature would be useful, for backup of notes and for offline archiving. Exporting as a plain text file would be great, and even greater would be an option to export multiple notes into one text file.

I'm thinking of this as a total ubernote backup feature, for when you've got someone with 50 notes full of information, and they want to have access to it all offline, or they're done with a note and want it off their active note list but want to archive a copy of it offline, or they're paranoid about you guys losing the info, or something similar. I've used online note apps before that have inexplicably disappeared or gone down for weeks at a time, leaving me worrying about whether I'll ever get access to my data again.

One feature I'd really like to see is an easy way for me to point directly to a specific note. I find that I am constantly using 2-3 notes and would love to be able to add a link to them on my favorites bar so that I have one-click access to them.

tree-like tagging structures

I'd like to make a simple (or so it seems) request: tag system/navigation that allows tree-like or hierarchical structures --- that is, tags within tags. For example, I have a BUSINESS tag but would like to place additional tags/categories within this tag/category, but I've been unable to do this, and I'm assuming this is due to the fact that your tagging system does not allow this. If I am mistaken and there is a way to do this, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE someone be kind enough to instruct me on how to go about this. If not, then, UBER-peeps, time to rock n' roll! Thanks!

Sorting Tags

I would really like it if UberNote could sync with a native desktop app for Mac, Windows and Linux. Since I spend most of my day on the Internet, the web app is sufficient for now, but it sucks up too much battery power on my Mac. Having a desktop app (Dashboard widget works too) just like Evernote in features would be a great plus. :D
I recommend making it as simple as possible, a folder/tag list on the left, notes on top and the editor on the bottom, just like the 3-pane mail.

local storage

One thing hampering full scale adoption of this is the lack of local storage, or a "Windows" sort of app so that you can access your notes while offline. Or, if the site were to ever "go away" perish the thought :)

Are there any plans for this. I really like this much better than EverNote, but that feature makes EverNote much "safer" for keeping important notes...

Bi Directional Note Linking

I really like the ability to link notes that are related. However, I often then have to make it a bi-directional link. By that I mean, if I have added a link from Note B to an 'original' Note A. I then have to open note A to add a link to note B. Automation of the process would be useful.

My use for this is in keeping track of related tasks within other notes. Using links and tasks is a great way of making sure you follow up on tasks and sub tasks. Emailing to ubernote a task you have sent someone and then linking to the 'original' note ensures you follow up by calling up only the 'original' note.

It would be usful to be able to combiine the contents of notes. Quite often I create very small notes. It would be very useful to be able to combine the contents into one note. Example: I'm looking for software to replace google notebook (Ubernote may be it). So, searching the web for such a replacement, I locate several pages which I want to add to Ubernote, so I click the Ubernote toolbar, and click the Add page to ubernote function. Later on I decide to merge all this information

A simutaneous disk=write backup would be great too

not hard to implement. you set up a twitter account for this purpose,
make updates protected when someone subscribes to your bot
on twitter authenticate their ubernote name

after that, they post to your bot, you know who they are an djam it

Sessions expiration on password change

Hello again! I use UberNote almost every day, its improving really fast. Thank you for that!
Here is the thing that bothers me. I use UberNote on several computers with different browsers. When I login with "remember me" option checked, the session never expires, which in my opinion is a feature, not a bug and which is great. But it would be good seesion to expire when I change password in one place - at all computers/browsers to be logged off. In case I use public computer to access notes and forget to logoff.
I've seen this in other sites - you could be logged on indefinitely from several computers/browsers until you change the password in one place. Then you're logged off from all computers.

improvements to ubernote

I've been using Google Notebook for several years now and have found it to be a great organizing tool. However, it seems that GN won't be around much longer so I signed up yesterday to Ubernote. So far, here's what would help me use Ubernote better:

- ability to add multiple tags into edit, each tag separated by a comma
- ability to delete Tags
- ability to organize notes into folders and sub-folders
- ability to collapse notes into showing only titles

I think Ubernote could take Google Notebook's place a the reigning notebook app.

time out

I sure would appreciate a user option to turn off the "session time out." I find it very user unfriendly to have my session disconnected because I've exceeded some built-in time parameters that log out a user because of no activity in a given period of time. Just let me stayed logged in for as long as I like, whether I'm actively editing or clipping notes or not.

I would like to see navigation improved with back/forward buttons and perhaps a drop-down menu with the last few recently viewed notes. A shortcut key for switching back and forth between the last viewed note would be good too. Quite often I want to switch back and forth between various notes (for reference); currently the only way to do this is to run a search or click on a tag and run down the page. This is pretty clunky.

A separate request - I have mentioned this before, but I think the search needs to be more sophisticated, with boolean options perhaps, and the ability to search by tags and tag combinations.

Improved WYSIWYG editor

Some suggestions for improvements to the editor:

1) Allow strikeout text style
2) Allow ability to insert tables
3) Allow mixing of "tasks" with other forms of bulleted or numbered lists. Or allow the indentation when using a "task" list. I need to add descriptions to the task and/or break them into subtasks. The indentation allows me to visually group tasks. The bullets or numbers lets me add descriptions without creating a new task.
4) Allow easy insertion of a horizontal line.

Hi all,

I mainly use the viewing window Ubernote from the toolbar (as opposed to entering through the webpage) to take notes. It's quite handy. My only complaint is that it doesn't appear that there's a way to tag a note from the viewing window. I can give the note a title as well as sort previous notes by tags, but can't figure out how to just add a tag from the viewing window. As is, I have to actually go to the Ubernote web page and add a tag to notes I've written in the viewing window. Its just a bit clunky.

Has anyone figured out a way to do this?

Allow subscription to notes

If I share a note with a friend, that friend gets an invitation to view/edit that note.

If I edit the note or if he edits the note, I would not know unless I check the note regularly and/or he sends me an email. I would like the ability to subscribe to a shared note so that I can get an alert (IM, email, etc) when the note changes. This is exactly the same as the "subscription" option available when I create a new message on this forum.

You can further add the option to limit how often the alerts are sent out.

I want use UberSnap to capture small details of the web page. Its good too capture a thumbnail. OK I can do it with some firefox extensions but its cumbersome (capture, save, insert image).

It would be great if I could share a tag with another user so that by tagging a new note, it would automatically be shared with just those users (as opposed to the Public group which is viewable by anyone).
