Will Ubernote upgrade the toolbar for Firefox 3.6? If so, when? "Soon" and "stay tuned" aren't the kinds of answers I'm hoping for.

I really love Ubernote, but if development has stopped, you owe it to your users to be honest about it.

Any Google Chrome Development?

I recently converted to Google Chrome as my primary browser and I find significantly faster than Firefox. Unfortunately, the best tool I currently use to capture notes and ideas doesn't the superb toolbar available for Firefox. I'm just curious if there has been any development work in reference to chrome?

I have no problems going to Firefox to capture pages and ideas, I'm just trying to eliminate the extra steps to do so.

Access from multiple browsers / PCs

I would like to be able to use Ubernote from multiple PCs (eg: work and home), without having to logout (or close the browser window) before I move to the other PC. A couple of times when I have stayed logged in on multiple PCs I seem to have lost changes, but I'm not sure due to the timing etc.

Can one of the devs please comment as to whether this should work?

Ubernote vs Memonic

There's a new kid on the block - Memonic. After trying this out for a while I've concluded that it is very similar to Ubernote, but with some important differences:
+ It has a *much* better looking interface (subjective, but I like it)
+ It has a bookmarklet clipping tool which allows you to send selections from a web page (which I can't seem to do in Ubernote)
+ I like the Memonic system of putting new items in an Inbox awaiting tagging
- You can only mail stuff to you Memonic account from your registered mail account
- Tagging seems to be much more limited than Ubernote
- I'm not convinced about the security of the accounts in Memonic
- There is no Firefox Addon for Memonic
- There's no community or any other interface with the Memonic developers
- No tickboxes in notes in Memonic
- Formatting in user created Memonic notes is very limited. (no coloured fonts for example)

In conclusion, Ubernote seems to win hands down - BUT - my comparison over a few weeks indicates to me that Ubernote needs to sharpen up its presentation. The prettier interface of Memonic threatens to drawn more user in based on first experiences. Ubernote could allow greater personalisation of the Dashboard, as a starter, to give the user an illusion of greater control perhpas.

Unacceptable Loss of Service

I recently switched from Google Notebooks. I tried Evernote for awhile but didn't like their interface, so I switched to Ubernote.

I've been using Ubernote for a few weeks and when it's available, it's great. When it's down... I seriously wish I had never moved here. First I get the session resetting on me whilst in the middle of using my notes and I have to log back in. After that happens a few times it gives up altogether. The url simply returns a server runtime error message and then you're out for some time until the site starts working again. If these problems are temporary and go away soon I can survive in the short term, but if they don't get fixed I'll be forced to try yet another notebook service.

If someone wanted to teach me about the dangers of cloud computing I couldn't think of a more painful way to experience it than this. I have a memory like a sieve and I cannot work without my notes! I NEED my information available 24-7. All the fancy features in the world are worthless if I can't get to my information.

Unless I've missed it, I haven't seen any notices on the site along the lines of "sorry we've got some server issues, we're doing the best we can to sort it out". So what's going on? Are these interruptions in service normal?? Because they are not acceptable.

Has development stopped on Ubernote?

I just discovered Ubernote today and so far I am loving it. I have tried OneNote, Evernote, SpringPad, and many other capture tools in the past. Hopefully Ubernote will be the holy grail for me...

I have been able to add many notes with tasks in them. I have been able to add and view notes using the mobile version (Blackberry Storm).

So far I haven't figured out how to check off a task while using the mobile version. Is this possible? I would love to be able to check tasks off as I do them while I am out and about.

Is there a way to add tasks in an email without having to login and use the "Add a checkbox list" button? I'd like to add checkbox tasks to notes directly in the email and not have to revise my note after it is created.

I need to share some text with a class. I had tried cl1p.net but my formatting wasn't respected and as they have to copy the text for a formatting exercise, it won't do.
So now I'm trying Ubernote... but I can't see 'Publish' under the share button, like described in the help pages.

basically i have information that saved in section, subsection format, trying to mimic same thing.

I can add UberMarks just fine but when I go to them in the UberNote application I can't click on the links because they open like notes in edit mode. I feel like an idiot for having to ask but how do I make the links in my bookmarks clickable? They were all added with the UberNote toolbar for Firefox if that makes a difference.

Migrating from Blogger

I am currently using blogger to store my notes since it was quite easy to set up. The google toolbar allowed me to do a Send To > Blogger which made clipping quite easy.

Now I'm able to use Ubernote with Firefox/Noscript, I'd like to move over as Ubernote is more tailored for note taking. Is there an easy way for me to migrate my data from blogger to Ubernote?

Section headers missing on Google Notebook import

Hi,

I was wondering if I could do anything to import the section headers along with the notes and labels from Google Notebook.

The labels seems to have been migrated but the Section Headers have not. Would help a lot because I had a lot of sections and they have now been all clubbed into one inside Ubernote.

Copying text from wordpad?

Hi everyone, well so far I really like ubernote's setup, except for one thing. I am taking my class notes primarily on Wordpad just for simplicity sake. It occurred to me that if for some reason I was ever at the college campus and wanted to study it may be nice to have an online backup. So what I have been trying to do is copy paste my word documents into a new note in ubernote...sounds simple. Unfortunately every time I do this I find that ubernote has made half of the document red...or underlined half of it...also I find half of a paragraph at the top and the other half three paragraphs down in the middle of some other topic. I literally spent an hour and a half trying to correct the first note I tried to save because every time I got it pieced back together and reedited and saved I would log back in to find the same thing had happened. Scroll farther down to edit the document, scroll back up and find it is all red and underlined again!! As you can imagine this is exceedingly frustrating. It took me longer to backup my notes in this program than it did to read the 40 page chapter and take the notes in word in the first place, quite literally. Is this program just a lost cause for pasting information into?? Or is there some way to do this that wont result in a document that looks as though it was written by Pablo Picasso?! Any help would be very much appreciated as I do like the concept of the program, all I need to do is a simple "copy + paste" from a word doc. into ubernote. Thanks everyone!

Is there a way to strip Table formatting?

Not infrequently, I want to cut and paste text from a website into Ubernote. I have problems when the pasted text brings is contained within cell and/or tables. The formatting of the Ubernote becomes problematic and I would like to remove the tables, cells, anchors,etc and simply leave the text behind. Is there a tool for this within Ubernote?

UN allows us to share our notes with others, by inserting their email address, and claims (I think) that updates are forwarded automatically

I've tested this myself my sharing a note (and the recipient's email address appears at the foot of the note, and beside that UN tells me that the shared itme has been read) but I have updated the note several times toady and no updated email has been received.

Firefox toolbar - Uber clip / mark / snap

Hi. From what I have seen and read on the Features pages, it is my understanding that the Uber Clip, Uber Mark, and Uber Snap functions should be accessible from the Firefox toolbar add-on. However, after installing the add-on I do not see these options appear anywhere.

Inserting formatted text

Hello ... I'n new, I've come from Google Notebook, so please be gentle ...

I might have got this all wrong, but ...

Yesterday after I imported my notes from two google notebooks (and the process was reasonably painless, thanks), after UN had absorbed these, and created new tag categories so I could see where the notes came from (thank you) I seem to remember being presented wiht a list of all tags in the left hand margin of UN "Online WebNotes" view, but today below the Tags heading, only the top one of these tags alphabetically is listed ????

what have I done ....

It was very useful to be able to click on the left hand tag and work on just those notes

Deleting Text (Del, Backspace, Ctrl-X) Not working?

I cannot delete text from a note that I created (ie not someone elses shared note).
I have tried DEL, Backspace, Ctrl X, and none work.
I don't see a Note option for locking the note, sp I assume it should be editable.
I must be missing something simple - but not sure what.

How do I search for strings that are not regular words. For eg. 1-1-1, the 'hyphen' prevents from finding a match. I tried "1-1-1" and found that it does not work. any suggestions? I happen to have a lot of similar strings in my notes.

Is there any documentation on the various search options? Any escape characters?

I really like the partial search features and my usage is mostly with unicode characters.

Am I looking in the wrong place?

The messages are not being bounced back, so I assume they reached ubernote.

Performance (speed): Searches and page loads when there are many notes

Before I move all of my data into ubernote I'd like to know what people's experience has been regarding performance (searches and page loads) when the number of notes increases to several thousand. Does it degrade significantly? I don't plan to put a lot of images in my notes. For example, I won't copy a lot of Web content and paste it into my notes.

I may be missing something, but I find it impossible to add tags from the View Notes window and cumbersome to add them on the site. It would be great to be able to add multiple tags, simply, in a simple list view of pages.

formatting lost during clipping

When I perform a web clipping (using FF3.1b2 on a Mac), saying a news article, all of the article's formatting (line spacing, paragraph returns, font size & bolding, etc.) is not carried over to my Ubernote. I then have to edit the clip to restore the article's formatting, which is a huge waste of time. Why doesn't the formatting carry through? Any ideas, help??
