| An "export note" feature would be useful, for backup of notes and for offline archiving. Exporting as a plain text file would be great, and even greater would be an option to export multiple notes into one text file.
I'm thinking of this as a total ubernote backup feature, for when you've got someone with 50 notes full of information, and they want to have access to it all offline, or they're done with a note and want it off their active note list but want to archive a copy of it offline, or they're paranoid about you guys losing the info, or something similar. I've used online note apps before that have inexplicably disappeared or gone down for weeks at a time, leaving me worrying about whether I'll ever get access to my data again. |

| | This is actually a really great idea and not too difficult to implement, either. There are a couple of good ways to implement the workflow, though one that seems both easy and intuitive in my eyes is to just export all notes that are on the currently viewed page. If a user wants to export a single note, just search for it. If the user wants to export a series of notes, just search for them or use a tag cloud. For the export format, three formats can cover almost everyone's needs: XML, plain text, and CSV. Plain text for those who just want to be able to read the notes, CSV for easy importing into Excel or hundreds of other programs, and XML for those who want to retain all of the note's formatting and for those who want to access the exported notes programmatically. Notice that this last one goes hand in hand with the API that I suggested earlier. I have to admit that this feature isn't of critical importance but implementing it would put UberNote ahead of a lot of other similar web services. |

| You guys are right. We do want users to have this ability.
It would be a great notes portability option... Now importing and sync'n back in would be a whole other story, but I'll say that's much farther off.

| | For me this is vital: I would like to use it as my company's wiki, but without local backup this seems risky. If your service should discontinue, I would be in big trouble... |
